Description
1965 Barolo, Camerano
Piedmont, Italy
A beautifully aged Barolo from Giovanni Camerano, one of La Morra’s long-established family producers. The 1965 vintage yielded classically structured wines with poise, freshness, and longevity — hallmarks of traditional Nebbiolo craftsmanship.
Now fully mature, it displays a pale brick-garnet colour with a lifted bouquet of dried roses, leather, tobacco leaf, and forest floor. The palate is elegant and savoury, revealing layers of dried cherry, truffle, balsamic spice, and earthy minerality, framed by fine, resolved tannins.
Serving & Pairing:
Best enjoyed lightly decanted for 30–45 minutes to release its tertiary aromas. Serve at 17–18°C in large Burgundy-style glasses. Pairs superbly with wild mushroom risotto, truffle pasta, game bird, or aged Parmigiano-Reggiano — dishes that echo the wine’s depth and savoury complexity.
