Description
This beautiful Vintage Champagne from the 1990 Vintage comes in a Silk-Lined Presentation case with four hand-painted flute glasses featuring the famous anemone wreathed in gold that was placed on the bottle of the first Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque vintage, back in 1964.
Tasting Note:
Beautiful Manuka honey and doughy nose with and a palate of deeply flavoured ripe creamy yellow grapefruits, autumnal apples, mandarin fruits and pears with fresh waffles. The bubbles are there but ever so subtle, typical of a vintage Champagne. Only the slightest oxidized note. A beautiful bottle!
THE ANEMONE
In the early 1900s, the Art Nouveau movement burst into life, drawing its inspiration from the lines and movements of nature, inviting beauty and poetry into daily life and artist and master glass maker Emile Gallé was one of the movement's pioneers.
In 1902 he designed the iconic anemone wreathed in gold that was placed on the bottle of the first Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque vintage in 1964, turning it into a work of art the history of which unfurls and continues to this day.
