Chateau Lascombes, 1965 Red Wine
Margaux- Deuxième Cru Classé (Second Growth)
Bottle size: 75cl
ABV: 14%
Price:
£130.00
Description
Appearance: deep brick to tawny rim, possibly fading in core color; moderate to light intensity.
Aromas (Nose): dried or oxidized red and black fruits (dried plum, prune, black cherry), tertiary notes of leather, tobacco, cigar box, forest floor, possibly truffle, earth, underbrush. Hints of dried herbs, cedar, maybe dried cocoa or balsamic nuance.
Palate / Structure: The tannins will likely have softened or become more integrated / mellow, though some drying grip may remain. The acidity is likely to be more muted, though still providing structure. The fruit may be faded, leaning toward tertiary expression.
Finish & Complexity: The finish may be medium in length given age — not as vibrant as in youth. Complexity in tertiary notes (forest, earth, “old Bordeaux” character), but less fruit-forward.
