Description
Rating: 96 - Wine Spectator
Château Mouton Rothschild's 1979 label was designed by the Japanese abstract painter Hisao Domoto.
The wine has an attractively brilliant, red-orange color and a nose that opens slowly to reveal notes of cedarwoord, spice, pepper and black berry fruit with airing. Relatively refined on the palate, it shows good structure, delicate and not overly powerful, with supple, silky tannins. Spice, caramel, earth and leather complete the pleasant impression in the mouth, combining subtle flavors with an agreeable structure. The finish is typical of the vintage, not particularly long but quite expressive.
