The vineyard, which has no fewer than 150 parcels of different soil, is cherished throughout the year, each vine receives an average of 50 treatments per year. The selection is particularly rigorous for the grand vin of château d'Yquem: it is often said that a vine produces only one glass of wine . The harvest is carried out through at least four passes to harvest the grapes at perfect ripeness, with the noble rot.

Reviews

Neal Martin in The Wine Advocate described the 1939 as being “Lucid gold, it has a light chlorine-tinged bouquet with melted wax scents, simple but pure. The palate has a pleasing viscosity on the palate, almost Auslese-like in texture. There is not much botrytis here, but there is a pleasing Christmas cake, stewed fig and marmalade finish that is very satisfying.”
