Description

The 1998 Chateau la Tour Figeac has a dark cherry core color, bricking at waist. All leather, graphite, cigar box and pencil shavings upon opening. Fleshy merlot texture, acidic balance, integrated tannins. With aeration, smoky and roasted fruits came to the fore - like charcoal filtered plums. Textbook 60/40 blend. As others have observed, this is squarely in its drinking window and showing really well.
