Description

"Inferno" is a term used in the Italian wine region of Valtellina to denote a specific area known for producing high-quality Nebbiolo-based wines.

Tasting Notes
Inferno wines from Nino Negri typically exhibit the classic characteristics of Nebbiolo, with aromas of red cherries, raspberries, violets, and dried herbs. On the palate, they are often medium to full-bodied, with firm tannins, bright acidity, and a lingering finish. The wines can age gracefully, developing additional complexity and depth over time.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Nebbiolos are best served at 18ºC. Older wines require decanting to separate grape residue and to bring out the flavours and make the wine softer and more enjoyable to drink. After this you can best wait for about 4 hours before drinking the wine. Pair your wine with slow cooked beef casserole, pasta with ragu, truffle and egg dishes, mushroom risotto and mature hard cheeses.

Nino Negri is one of the most renowned wineries in Valtellina, with a history dating back to 1897. They are known for their commitment to quality and tradition, producing a range of red wines from the Nebbiolo grape, including those from the Inferno subzone.
