Description
Rare 1959 vintage wine from famous Chateau Moulin Touchais Coteaux de Layon, Loire France.
This is a sweet Anjou white wine that despite it's age has just come to the right time to drink.
Reviews:
Decanted 90 mins before consumption to filter out split cork remnants and remove residual funk. Deep gold colour with brown tints reminiscent of whisky. Nose of smokey caramel with merest hints of truffle. The flavour is of Bramley apple with warm clove and middle eastern spices. The background caramel sweetness with all the other elements are brought together by a searing core pectic acidity that creates a perfect balance. Staggeringly excellent and extraordinarily long finish (30 mins +). Serve at barely below ambient temperature for maximum enjoyment.

This chateau is famous for it's very old vintages. All wines stay at least 10 years in the cellars of Moulin Touchais which stores over 1 million bottles in its miles long cellars. This wine is made from the Chenin blanc grape and is produced in a very special way to produce it's very distinct and unique sweet taste.
