Quinta do Noval Vintage Port is only declared when various factors combine to make an exceptional year. Intensely powerful and concentrated, these wines are adapted to age in bottle, developing overs years and releasing a complex variety of flavours.

The 2000 Noval is a vintage Port with great depth and opacity with a licorice edge to the fruit profile. Tannins still very much in evidence, this was one of the best Port wines of the vintage.

A little closed, but revealing fig and quince jam richness, and a meaty, solid underpinning with lots of depth. The palate has a thick, sweet, layered structure. Delicious and a very complete wine, with a grippy, firm structure from big tannins and keen acidity, but the wine goes on and on, the length spicy and rich, but all the time the tightly wound power and concentration of fruit driving through the core.
