Tasting notes:
Intense red colour with garnet flecks, typical aroma with hints of red fruit jam, spicy finish and full velvety body.

From a vineyard situated in the hills of the northern part of Verona the carefully selected grapes are put in small plastic crates and dried in ventilated rooms for about three months. When they reach the perfect grade of dryness they are pressed and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The fermentation lasts for about 30 days and develops high alcohol content. After a period in concrete tanks, where it undergoes Malolactic Fermentation, the wine is transferred to large oak casks of medium and large size for about three years.

Château Cos D'Estournel is regarded by many as the finest wine within the northern commune of Saint Estèphe and is certainly an aesthete's delight. Driving past the stately Château Lafite-Rothschild with its manicured gardens and willow-trees billowing in the wind, you enter a roller-coaster dip which ascends towards a building that appears to have been designed on LSD with its Chinese pagodas and menagerie of creatures: lions, elephants and unicorns sculpted in sandstone that radiates at sunset. Even the large main door is ornately carved with exotic flora and fauna. What is surprising is that this is not even a place of residence: but simply one of the most outrageously decadent chai in the world.
