Vintage Armagnac
Special Order please allow 10 days for delivery.
Baron de Lustrac is a small traditional éleveur specialising in fine old Armagnac vintages. Their extensive range is sourced from neighbouring estates in the Tenereze and Mas Armagnac regions and they keep an ageing and bottling chais near Magnan, in the Bas Armagnac region.
All Baron de Lustrac Armagnacs are aged in 420ltr oak barrels and sold as single vintages. Baron de Sigognac, 1935
Vintage Armagnac
Heir of many centuries of savoir-faire and tradition: the Sigognac house is one of the oldest one of Armagnac.
In Armagnac, legend has it that, one day long ago,
Baron de Sigognac took all the traditional clocks
out of his cellars.
Fascinated by the mystery surrounding
the way Armagnac ages so well,
he had some very strange timepieces made.
On these clocks, the face had ten divisions instead of twelve.
The seconds had become years, the big hand moved only once a decade and the hour hand marked the centuries.
Baron de Sigognac had found the core of the mystery of Armagnac ageing : time and patience…
The legend adds that, …

Croft Port, 1935
Vintage Port - high shoulder
The Croft 1935 has a noticeably deep mahogany hue with light amber rim. This is the oldest Croft with vestige of fruit lingering on the nose with hints of macerated red cherry, figs, balsam and liquorice. Complex and compelling, with very good lift. The palate is simply outstanding with immense depth and complexity, beautiful sense of natural balance and harmony with spice, Manuka honey and dates. Long, seductive and irresistible, it is difficult to image exactly how port can be much better than this imperious Croft ’35. Brilliant.

Shipped & bottled by Saccone & Speed Ltd, London
Since many years Hine has upheld a tradition of making good vintage cognacs, mostly made of Grande Champagne. These have a reputation of being very elegant and well balanced.

Niepoort Port, 1935
Colheita Port
Reviews
1935 Niepoort Colheita Port – (bottled ,,,) – exceptionally perfumed nose, on the palate this is tremendous, the balance is perfection, round mouth-feel, incredibly long…even longer than the 1937! Nice high acid keeps this so fresh. Absolutely gorgeous wine with a delicious toasted pecan finish. The wine lacks nothing…it does not get better than this. Perfection! After we tasted this, Dirk told us it is his favourite Niepoort wine, and only a handful of bottles of this remain at the winery. 100 points - Roy Hersh = FortheLoveofPort.com
