Review:
A lovely cherry red colour, 40% opaque. Another wonderful nose, with sweet cherry and mature spiced fruit. Thick in texture and flavoured with sweet red apples combine to give an impressive palate presence. Awesome balance and a terrific palate. Fragrant fruit drives the aftertaste, followed by a delicious cherry finish with a great length. This is a very fine vintage port and was my wine of the night. 94/100. Decanted 13 hours. AHB.

Valtellina is one of Italy’s most dramatic wine regions, located in Lombardy, the vineyards are located on steep mountains. The principal grape variety is Chiavennasca (the local name for Piedmont’s Nebbiolo and an Italian grape varietal that has been cultivated since medieval times here).
