Grape Variety: 100% Nebbiolo
Harvest time: 2013 – 14th/17th October / 2015 – 23th/25th September
Fermentation: about 15 days at 30°C and then 60% with the “submerged cap” technique (post fermentation maceration) for 25 more days.

Characteristics:

garnet red colour
ethereal bouquet; intense tar with a scent of dry flowers, underwood, leather, truffles and sweet spices
a rich palate; balance and mature tannins contribute to its harmony, distinction and intensity
a remarkably classy, austere wine, with exceptional richness and tipicity

Late Bottled Vintage Port

Tasting Note:
The aromas are delicate and varied, with plenty of tropical fruit, berries and grapes fully ripe. In its evolution are noticeable aromas of cocoa, chocolate and a slight toasted wood. The palate is dense and opaque.

Winemaking:
In similar fashion to the Vintage, Late Bottled Vintage is produced in the traditional manner, thus gaining a more rustic and tougher character. It is aged in the Vila Nova de Gaia cellars in enormous oak vats in order to preserve its deep colour and fresh fruit flavours, gaining a closed and fruity character. It is bottled between the fourth and fifth spring after harvest.

In 1895, Jacques Mondon, a lawyer in Pauillac, acquired several vineyards in the parish of Cissac-Medoc. He combined these different vineyards under the name of Chateau Cissac. In 1940 Louis Vialard inherited the property from his grandparents Mondon and he set about the task of restoring the vineyards and the outbuildings as well as the family home.

Intense purple ruby colour. Pungent aromatic nose with heaps of black woodland fruit, dark cherry and plum. Lovely clean, crisp freshness to the bouquet. The palate is rounded, smooth and perfectly balanced. Flavours of redcurrant, raspberry and blueberry in abundance, with a delicious hint of black liquorice; wonderful purity of fruit. In true Taylor style, the wine is very well structured with big firm tannins that hold the wine nicely together. The finish is wonderfully long.

Late Bottle Vintage (LBV) Port from Taylor's, one of the oldest Port houses still in existence. Offering a level up in quality from basic ruby Ports, LBV Ports are aged for longer in wood than a normal Vintage Port, which typically age in bottle over many years.
