Chateau Gruaud Larose, 2006

St Julien 2me Cru Classe

A 2006 Chateau Gruaud Larose Red Wine
*** 91 Points - Wine Journal ***

"This is an impressive showing for Gruaud-Larose under blind conditions. It has a reserved, cedar, leafy nose with good definition and poise with good lift – very Pauillac in style with the Cabernet driving it along. The palate is full-bodied, very well balanced with good acidity. Firm tannins, ripe and elegant, very well poised on the briary finish. Charming. Tasted January 2010." Neil Martin, Wine Journal.

Perrier Jouet, 2006

Belle Epoque Vintage Champagne in presentation case.

Pale yellow with gold hints; notes of caramel, leaves, lightly roasted nuts, apple skin, slight oxidation; on the palate still some effervescence bubbles faded rather quickly, pleasing notes of sour apple, burnt caramel, musty chalk; medium body, good lifted acidity with a slightly rich caramel apple note, long in the mouth. Really nice, excellent condition.

Chateau Batailley, 2005

Pauillac, 5th Growth Classification

On the nose, this 2005 Chateau Batailley Grand Cru Classe is clean, pronounced and black fruit-led. As we may expect from a “left bank” wine that is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is the characteristics of this grape that lead. Black cherry and ripe plum along with a restrained note of blackcurrant form the bulk of the bouquet of this lovely Pauillac, although subtle oak notes of cedar and toast are also present and well integrated. Good, long finish.
Once in the mouth, this 2005 Chateau Batailley Grand Cru Classe Pauillac is dry, with a high level of acidity and tannin that look to make this wine suitable for prolonged ageing.

Chateau Beychevelle, 2005

St Julien 4me cru classe

*** 90 Points (Outstanding) Robert parker ***

Reviews
"The quintessentially elegant yet powerful 2005 may be the finest Beychevelle made since 1982. Its opaque ruby/purple color and sweet nose of camphor, blueberries, black currants, flowers, and crushed rocks precede a lovely, sweet, rich wine with zesty acidity delineating its medium to full-bodied personality, laser-like precision, and impressive purity and length. While this estate often does not live up to its pedigree, the 2005 is the real deal. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025+." Parker Wine Advocate 2007

Chateau Guiraud, 2005

Sauternes HALF BOTTLE 37.5cl

The 2005 Guiraud is very tight on the nose, taking time to unfurl, with notes of apricot, peach, a touch of honeysuckle and quince. Good definition. The palate is impressive. tightly coiled, honeyed fruit, very fine acidity, linear at first then fanning out across the finish with notes of dried apricot, nectarine, a touch of almond and a faint hint of spice. With good length and unctuous on the finish, this Guiraud is impossible to ignore. Drink from 2015 to 2030+

Chateau Lascombes, 2005

Margaux 2nd Growth Classification

Reviews for 2005 Chateau Lascombes
Spicy oak, earth and cedar wood jump from the glass of this fruity, medium-bodied wine. It is not showing quite the density I would have expected, but it is still well-endowed and more evolved than some of the top efforts from the Margaux appellation. It has a dark, ruby/plum color, a slightly narrow finish, and less intensity than I remember. For whatever reason, this didn’t jump out of the horizontal tasting of the appellation of Margaux in 2005. Moreover, I loved this wine from barrel and post-bottling. Score: 88+ Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (219), June

Chateau le Boscq, 2005

Cru Bourgeois, St Estephe

The 2005 le Boscq has a nice red fruit and sweet tobacco nose. It has a great palate, fruity, tannic well-balanced. Chateau le Crock, 2005

New

St Estephe Cru Bourgeois Superieur

Under the same ownership as Château Léoville-Poyferré, Le Crock has delivered a very good price/quality ratio over the last three or four vintages. Didier Cuvelier’s team have refined the winemaking at this 33 hectare estate and now Le Crock is delivering the quality that one would associate with such a well-positioned Cru Bourgeois, after all Le Crock nestles in behind Château Cos d’Estournel and no vast distance from the Gironde.

Aromas of toast and ripe black cherry emerge from the glass, with a fragrant, peppery nuance. The palate shows plenty of appeal, with succulent dark stone fruit and cherry to the fore in a mid-weight frame.

Chateau Lynch-Bages, 2005

Pauillac 5me Cru Classe

94+ points (Wine Journal)
91 points (Parker)

Reviews. "This outstanding effort is slightly lighter, more streamlined and delicate than followers of Lynch Bages have come to expect after such great vintages as 1982, 1989, 1990, 1996, and 2000. A deep ruby/purple hue is accompanied by a classic Medoc nose of tapenade, roasted herbs, licorice, cedar, black currants, and damp earth. Medium-bodied with moderate tannin, sweet fruit, and surprising softness as well as forwardness for a 2005 northern Medoc, it can be drunk now and over the next 20+ years." Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 2008

"This has a compelling and complex nose that lures you in.
