Niepoort Port, 2005

Colheita Port (Comes in Niepoort carton gift box as illustrated)

The small port shipping house of Niepoort has been handcrafting outstanding ports since 1842. Dirk Niepoort is currently the fifth generation of the family to personally oversee every wine which leaves the famous lodge in Vila de Gaia. Their extraordinary reputation is founded on a commitment to ancient vineyards, still treading most of their grapes in old granite ‘lagares' and bottling without filtration. As such, they remain regarded by many as the guardians of authentic port production.

Colheita ports are the products of a single year – in
this case 2005 - but are aged far longer in traditional casks.

Pomerol
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast.

A properly velvet-textured Pomerol, showing some of the richness of the Merlot in 2004. This is a well-balanced, intensely rich wine, the black plum fruit flavors powering through the tannins, and with a good lift of fresh acidity to finish. ROGER VOSS (90 Points Wine enthusiast)

Cotes de Castillion
Special Offer | Was £24.95 | Now £12.50

A 2004 fully-mature vintage Bordeaux wine. Nose richly fruity and ripe, mouth tasty, powerful and long. Nice wine with good potential. The tannic structure is present, but roundness and fruit aromas are superimposed and form a rich, complex and suave.

The climate of this vintage was rather classic: overall temperate with a little fear in summer.

"The 2004 Meyney has a simple, ripe nose of redcurrant, cranberry and a touch of cigar box. It seems to have more Merlot than other Saint Estephe wines with a nice touch of cassis towards the finish. A comparatively “dainty” wine, very approachable but well crafted." - Neil Martin, Wine Journal 2009.

Messias Port, 2004

Colheita Single Harvest Tawny Port

The Messias colheita port wine from the good 2004 vintage has been aged in a barrel until bottling in 2017.

It has a beautiful straw colour. Young, fruity fresh aromas that evolve over time, giving rise to a bouquet that brings out the aromas of dried fruits, aromas of roasting, wood and spices. Soft, harmony and complexity in the end. Great finish - excellent wine.

The extended barrel aging has given this wine a complex fusion of dried fruit and cedar notes. On the palate the wine is smooth and full bodies with plenty nuts and sweet fruit on the palate, fine balance. A tremendous finish which goes on forever.

La Belle Epoque 2004 Makoto Azuma Edition Individual Presentation Case
Special Offer | Last One | was £595 | Now £395

A 2004 vintage champagne. Created by a renowned floral Japanese artist Makoto Azuma*, Belle Epoque Florale Edition is a reverential homage to Emile Galle's famous Art Nouveau design. This was originally inspired by Japanese art culture, and has become the iconic image of Perrier-Jouët artistic heritage through its prestige cuvee. Challenging the aesthetic boundaries, Makoto Azuma created a unique combined artwork, made of a single delicate botanical arabesque dotted with white Japanese anemones. These recall the original 1902 design, which is further reinforced with a handcrafted motif of golden flowers on the bottle of Belle Epoque 2004**, carefully selected by Cellar Master Hervé Deschamps.

Quinta do Noval Nacional, 2004

Vintage Port- SINGLE BOTTLE

A 2004 vintage port wine. We are thrilled to be able to offer Nacional 2004 at the same time. Christian fell in love with the wine after harvest, so the wine was declared but not released. Kept instead under the watchful eye of Technical Director Antonio Agrellos to see how it developed. Considering the pedigree, it comes as no surprise that the wine lived up to their expectations, and so now, 10 years after the harvest, the 2004 is ready for release.

At Quinta do Noval the bud burst occurred mid-March followed by a quick flowering in the end of May due to high temperatures and lack of precipitation.

A 2004 vintage port wine. Only 1100 Cases made in 2004. The 2004 Vesuvio has an opaque, inky purple colour. Sherry

New

"Obispo Gascon" Palo Cortado
Barbadillo D.O. Jerez

*92 Points- Robert Parker*

A 2004 vintage sherry wine. Attractive colour of antique gold. The aromatic complexity reveals toasted almonds, walnuts and raisins. On the palate it is pleasant, rounded and harmonious. Deliciously smooth and lingering.

The Palo Cortado sherries are particularly special within the Jerez-Xèrés-Sherry Designation of Origin. This is because despite the fact that production follows the similar physical-chemical process of oxidative ageing as with the olorosos, the result is quite different with their organoleptic characteristics falling somewhere between those of an amontillado and an oloroso.
