Graham's Port

30 Year-Old Tawny Port
In original Graham's gift tube as illustrated

Graham's 30 Years Old is made from wines of the very highest quality which, following careful selection, are matured in seasoned oak casks of until their peak of maturity is reached. These are among the most demanding and challenging styles of Port to produce requiring great skill and years of experience from the winemaker and blender. It is essential to strike the correct balance between the delicacy and elegance which results from prolonged cask ageing while retaining the fruit quality which lends this old Tawny its structure and longevity.

Graham's Port, 1994

Vintage Port

96 Points (parker)

Reviews: "In a port tasting, tasting Graham's is almost like tasting a big, rich, succulent Merlot after a group of blockbuster, tannic Cabernets. Sweeter and more obvious than many ports, the opaque purple-colored 1994 is fruity, powerful, and rich, with an addictive hedonistic quality. It will be ready to drink in 8-10 years and keep for up to 30. As always, this is a showy, flamboyant port that has the advantage of being slightly sweeter than other 1994s. A great Graham's. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2035." Parker Wine Advocate 1996

Louis Sipp, 1994

Tokay Pinot Gris, Sélection de Grains Nobles
Half Bottle Format

A rare 1994 wine made using the Pinot Gris variety in Alsace, France.

Truly sweet and highly-prized, Sélection de Grains Nobles can be made only if the grapes are affected by the benevolent fungus botrytis cinerea, or noble rot. The brown, shrivelled grapes with their high concentration of sugar are individually harvested by hand and the resulting nectar is regarded as one of the finest wines in France. Its lifespan is practically unlimited.

Offley Port, 1994

Vintage Port

The 1994 Offley Vintage Port has a beautiful light brick color. The nose is warm, intense and pervasive, with a lot of roasted almonds, black cherry and dark chocolate. There is quite a bit of alcohol upfront, reminding of an Amaretto. Full bodied with a smooth and creamy texture and the same layers of flavors on the palate. The chocolate lingers for minutes.

Quinta de Ervamoira, 1994

Vintage Port, Douro
Library stock from Ramos Pinto
***94 Points- Robert Parker- Wine Advocate***

The earthy nose is a little mute, but the maturing palate is rich and full of softening black fruit. The wine is now coming into its own, and while it lacks the complexity and punch of a great Port, it has plenty going on in its favor, including layers of spice and sweetness on the finish.

Quinta do Passadouro, 1994

Quinta do Passadouro, Vintage Port

In the nose a lot of alcohol. It has a powerful nose but it’s not very complex. Liquorice, dark fruit, dark chocolate. There is also an amaretto cookie element coming through which is quite nice.
Taste: A creamy velvet texture. At the start a lot of freshness which is followed up very quickly with a lot of alcohol that attacks the palate. Dried fruit, some liquorice, and a really nice acidity.

Quinta do Vesuvio, 1994

Vintage Port

94 Points (outstanding) Wine Journal ***

Reviews: "This has an ethereal nose, nice lift with secondary aromas beginning to come through, with blackberry leaf, dried orange peel, a touch of walnut and honey. Expressive, if a little too open-knit. There is a hint of glue just in the background but it does not get in the way. The palate is very well balance, quite suave with very fine tannins, with subtle hints of cloves, dried herbs and a touch of capsicum with elegant very supple finish. Excellent. Drink now-2035." Warre's Vintage Port, 1994

Vintage Port
***94 Points- RobertParker***

An outstanding port scoring 94 points (Robert Parker)

"One of the finest Warres I have ever tasted, this opaque purple-coloured wine is made in a drier style (a la Dow), yet it is expressive, extremely full-bodied, with superb richness, purity, and well-integrated alcohol and tannin. It possesses a great mid-palate as well as impressive length. Tasters should take note of the wealth of peppery, liquorice-scented and flavoured raspberry and blackcurrant fruit. Look for it to be ready to drink in 10-12 years, and keep for 30+. This is a profound example of Warre vintage port." Parker Wine Advocate 1996.

Ryst Dupeyron Armagnac, 1993

Ryst Dupeyron Reserve Joseph Millesime vintage Armagnac
50cl bottle

The 1993 Dupeyron Armagnac is the expression of a single year and has a unique character associated with the year and the cask in which it has been stored. These vintages are bottled at the alcohol level in which they naturally come out of the cask. There is a wonderful contrast between the sweet and sour flavours of wood, amplified by the strong alcoholic degree. Rich palate feeling the alcohol and the concentration of dry plums, spicy with persistent flavour of rancio and of spices, but round, soft and long in the finish. The tannins are very present, but full-bodied and round.

The Maison Ryst-Dupeyron was founded by Joseph Dupeyron in 1905.

As in all things, however, what comes around goes around! Sure enough, 20 years later savvy consumers and food-conscious sommeliers are looking for finesse and freshness and heading back to Bairrada and Dao. Wines that when young had a vegetal character,

The location of the region has a unique climate, beneficial to this particular viniculture, due to the protection of the nearby mountains, long warm autumns and mists that come in from the River Bodrog, creating perfect conditions for noble rot. Creating the botrytised ('aszú') grapes for which the region is famous. A wonderful sweet wine from this renowned producer.
