Description
From the good 1995 wine vintage, the Chateau La Croix is now fully mature. Over time the wine has developed a tertiary gamey characteristics and tobacco box nose. On the palate the ripe berry fruit comes through together with integrated tannins. The wine is bright at first but fades a little over the space of a couple of hours. The wine will drink well now but will not benefit from further storage.
Fronsac is an appellation for red wines produced in an area in the east of the Bordeaux wine region. It is located close to the northern bank of the Dordogne river, just a few miles to the west of Libourne – the town that gives its name to the Libournais region. Libourne is home to prestigious appellations such as Saint-Emilion and Pomerol, as well as Fronsac itself.
