The NV Tawny Porto 40 Years S. Leonardo is a field blend coming in with 152 grams per liter of residual sugar. It was bottled in 2016 with a bar-top cork. All mahogany and molasses, this still often seems even fresher than the lovely 30 this issue—but not quite as lively. On the other hand, it is even more concentrated, more unctuous. The flavor is simply packed into the wine. It is so rich, it seems almost creamy. Then, it adds more pure power. The structure is superb, and this finishes with a pop and a bang. Needless to say, the delicious and complex flavours linger indefinitely on the finish. This isn't cheap, but it is very fine. You'll be pretty happy.
