Chateau Doisy Daene, 2015

Barsac, Sweet White Wine, Bordeaux
***95-97 Points - The Wine Advocate***

This 2015 sweet white wine from Barsac is 100% Semillon this year, and retains a lovely freshness. Textured and with plenty of noble rot in evidence, it displays notes of orange peel and apricots. Intense and scented with a finish that goes on and on.

"Wow. This is really impressive with a fabulous density and style. So much mushroom, almond and dried apple, apricot character. Fresh and bright. Joyous." James Suckling - 96 points

Tasting Notes Magnificent. Deep gold colour and with air rich open nose of lanolin, candle wax, dried orange peel, citrus fruits, crisp apples, floral notes of rose, dried tubers, dried faded potpourri over zesty bright pineapple. Good level of acidity balances the sweetness beautifully. Medium weight complete and wonderfully balanced.

Chateau Liot, 1970

Barsac

A wonderful fruity dessert wine from the 1970 vintage that is still drinking well.

Château Liot is a 20-hectare property producing on average 5,500 cases per year. It is located in the south-west of the Barsac appellation and its vineyards border those of Château Climens. Liot's vineyards (Sémillon 85%, Sauvignon Blanc 10%, Muscadelle 5%) lie on a gravel/silt/alluvial topsoil and limestone subsoil.
The grapes are fermented in vats and the wine is then matured in oak barrels (15% new) for 15-18 months. Liot's wines are typically fresh and refined and display marvellous purity of fruit.

Chateau Doisy-Vedrines, 1962

Barsac

An excellent fortified wine produced in limited quantities, it needs a few years to take shape and reach the height of its elegance. It has a nose of citrus fruits and toasted elements. On the palate, intense creaminess takes over. It has excellent ageing properties.

Château Doisy Védrines was created after the division of Domaine de Doisy in 1846, just before the classification of 1855. Classified second growth it has a magnificent terroir on the limestone plateau of Barsac (it can also claim the appellation Sauternes in which Barsac is included). Besides the two Doisy, its other neighbors

96 James Molesworth, WineSpectator.com, February 2017
This shows the vivid, racy side of Barsac, with streaming flavors of pineapple, yellow apple, green plum and white ginger, displaying lovely energy from start to finish. Ends with enough honeysuckle and orange blossom notes to balance the richness. Best from 2020 through 2035. 4,000 cases made.
