Sandeman, Non Vintage

Cask 33 Limited Edition Old Tawny Port

Sandeman’s Cask 33 is a single cask of Tawny Porto that is being launched to coincide with the celebration of Sandeman’s 225 years in 2015. The port includes wines of up to 70 years old that have been created by different generations of Sandeman master benders.

This release is a limited edition of only 685 bottles. The bottle design reproduces the style of those bottles originally used at the time of the founder in 1790 and are hand blown by one of Portugal’s last great artisanal bottle works.

Each year the winemaking team taste all the wines on the aging inventory, and when necessary, make adjustments in keeping with the house style.

Grahams Port Bonds

It has long been a tradition for special occasions to be marked by the laying down of vintage port from the year of the event. Problematically, due to the fact that a vintage year is normally only declared in the second year after the harvest, the recipient of the gift often has to remain empty handed until sometime after the celebration.

Sandeman, 2018

Late Bottled Vintage Port
***2023 Decanter Gold Award Winner***

Sandeman's Late Bottled Vintages are renowned for their quality and depth of character and have won numerous awards. This Port has been specially selected for a roundness of flavours. Deep ruby colour, almost opaque. Aroma of good intensity and complexity, slightly floral, with notes of bright red fruits, spices, curry, pepper, and some cocoa and chocolate, the result of good maturation and stoniness. It has good volume in the mouth, high-quality, well-polished tannins, well-integrated acidity, and notes of spices, pepper and curry. The finish is long-lasting.

Drink now, it's perfect with chocolate desserts, creamy cheeses or red fruit tarts.

Ramos Pinto, 2017

Late Bottled Vintage Port, Douro
*** 90 Points- Decanter Silver Award Winner ***

If you are looking for a ready to drink port that is close to a vintage style at the fraction of the price, look no further. This Ramos Pinto Late Bottled Vintage Port comes from the exceptional 2017 vintage and has spent 4-7 years maturing in cask, perfectly ready to enjoy now.

The 2017 Ramos Pinto Late Bottled Vintage Port is unfiltered and comes from one single year and one single harvest. Whereas its richer cousin, the Vintage, is bottled in the second year, this wine is bottled in the fourth year. Smoother than the Vintage, more developed and easier to drink. Tasting notes
Opaque black at the centre with a narrow purple rim. Uncompromisingly Taylor’s in style, elegant and precise. The nose is threaded with very fine, linear fruit, heady and complex but restrained by a graphite minerality. Quinta da Vargellas has imprinted its signature fragrance of violets, which hangs like a scented veil over the wine, and there are discreet terroir notes of citrus, wild herbs and gumcistus. The nose is still reserved and discreet but there is impressive depth and background, as well as hints of complexities still to emerge with time.

Vintage Port, DOC Douro

***99 Points-Derek Smedley MW***
***96 Points-Neal Martin, Vinous.com***
***19/20 Points-Richard Mayson***

The 2016 Graham’s Vintage Port Wine is fantastically clear cut, with leafy black berry and blackcurrant aromas, fabulous sweetness on the palate, but also lift and elegance. “I think this could be one of the best we’ve ever made” Paul Symington told us. “on a par with the ’63, ’70 and ‘94”. Seriously deep and resonant, with palate staining richness that moves from blackcurrant to plum, then to chocolate and cherry on an exceptionally long finish.

Cockburn Port, 2015

Vintage Port, Douro

This 2015 Vintage Port Wine is only the second Cockburn’s Vintage Port made by the Symington family since it acquired the brand name from Beam in 2010, having bought the vineyards and cellars in 2006. Its declaration of a 2015 Vintage Port is the latest in a number of innovations and investment to mark the company’s bicentenary, with the brand having been founded in 1815. Up until the 1950's Cockburn’s was one of the Douro’s leading Port producers, with its Ports commanding some of the highest prices at international wine auctions. However its rapid expansion into the mass market in the second half of the century served to damage its reputation for fine wines.

Niepoort Port, 2015

Vintage Port, Douro
BIOMA Vinha Velha- Half Bottle
***19/20 Points-(JH) Jancis Robinson.com***

This 2015 Bioma “Vinha Velha”, Vintage Port Wine from Niepoort is a single vineyard Vintage Port from aged vines at Vinha da Pisca (mostly + 80 years old), which is cultivated organically. A hot site, which produces impressive tannins, it formed the backbone of Niepoort Vintage Ports for many years. However, the best parcels were set aside for this wine in 2013, 2011, 2009, 2008 and (known then as Pisca) in 2007. Like Niepoort Vintage Port, Bioma was 100% foot trodden with 100% stems. It was then aged in pipes (550 litre)and will be bottled in the third year after the harvest (2018) which, says Niepoort, is what happened in the “old days” when wines were shipped to England in pipes, and bottled later.

Graham's Port, 2012

Quinta dos Malvedos, Vintage Port, Douro

Deep, dark red colour with just a hint of fading along the edge. Gorgeous black cherry and plum aromas, with a wonderful fresh fruit fragrance and distinct notes of eucalyptus and hints of mint and liquorice. Luscious and opulent flavours coat the palate with full, rich blackberry fruit, intense and compact. A supple, muscular wine very pleasurable to drink now but with ample further ageing potential. Graham's Port, 2011

Vintage Port
*** 95-97 Points- Wine Advocate ***

The Graham’s 2011 Vintage Port Wine is a profound and complex wine of incredible intensity. Purple-black to the rim, this wine gives fine aromas of blue-violets, black China tea and ripe red fruit. On the palate, it offers an initial taste of powerful and vigorous fruit, merging into flavours of bitter black chocolate and fine acidity with balanced and mature, but not dry, tannins. The final flavour is clean and perfectly defined. This wine will age well, evolving into a finely balanced and elegant wine in the decades to come.

"Though the nose is very tight, there’s an attractive whiff of violets and black pepper.

Quinta de la Rosa, 2011

Late Bottled Vintage Port, Douro
MAGNUM Bottle

Quinta de La Rosa is a small estate in the heart of the Port wine-growing region in Alto Douro, near Pinhao, owned and operated by the Bergqvist family.

The Quinta and its vineyards were given to the Bergqvist family as a Christening present by the Feuerheerds, who established the property in 1906.

It remains one of the few Single Quinta where the vineyards start at the bank of the Douro and rise 450 meters to the towering top of the mountain. From the river's edge to the top, one passes through 11 different microclimates. This gives La Rosa great flexibility to add variety and complexity to its Ports.

Quinta do Vesuvio, 2001

Vintage Port

The 2001 Quinta do Vesuvio is a very dark ruby colour. The Touriga Nacional’s tiny yields brought great concentration to the wine, while the Touriga Franca, due to the good weather during the harvest, achieved perfect ripening, creating wines of great elegance. The Tinta Barroca was very ripe at the time of picking, with a higher than average baumé, producing wines of excellent structure and ageing potential. The old plantings of Tinta Roriz had lower than normal yields in 2001, giving wines with a typical concentration of berry fruit aromas.
