Colheita Ports are single-vintage Tawny Ports. They are aged in wooden barrels for a minimum of seven years, but a 1951 Colheita would have undergone several decades of maturation, resulting in a deeply complex and nuanced wine.

Tasting Notes:
1951 Palmer is now a deep mahogany colour reflecting its great age and time in barrel. On the nose there is a rich bouquet with pronounced notes of dried fruits (such as figs, dates, and apricots), nuts (especially almonds and walnuts), caramel, and toffee. The 1950 Kopke Port is a true rarity. Bright amber colour with a complex nose of dried fruits, suggestions of dried figs, nuts, almonds and hazelnuts. A harmonious whole, marked by delicious honey notes and a subtle touch of roasted peanuts. Rich and satin in the taste, reveals an excellent structure and a remarkable unctuosity. The port house Sociedad do Vinhos Porto Constantino was founded in 1877 and was a independent producer until it was acquired by the reputable Ferreira group. The 1947 Constantino from the very good vintage is now a mature tawny colour. On the nose the bouquet is caramel and burnt sugar. The palate has a mature and generous taste with some sweetness left. Nice long finish. A beautiful mature port.
