This 2016 Vintage Port Wine is hailed as the Quinta of all Quintas! The Vesuvio's special reputation for producing outstanding wines goes back into the nineteenth century, when the Viscount of Villa Maior wrote, “All this wine is made scrupulously and to perfection… this Quinta was made as if for princes…”.It is a powerhouse wine with fresh, dark fruit aromas, rounded off with some lovely esteva (rockrose) and violets fragrance. Taught and muscular in the mouth with good grip from the schist tannins. The finish is long and intense with superb structure.

The 2016 Sandeman Vintage Port Wine returns to its glory. With an opaque with an almost black colour the wine has an intense, complex aroma. The 2016 Sandeman Late Bottled Vintage Port Wine has deep ruby colour. It was bottled unfiltered and with a long cork in 2019. It comes in at 113 grams per liter of residual sugar. Very fragrant, this is scented with eucalyptus, and it shows fine structure as well. Tight on the finish in its youth, it is focused and flavorful, with lingering fruit. This expressive LBV is well done.
