Taylor's Port, 2005

Quinta Terra Feita Vintage Port

*** 93 points Neil Martin ***
From the good 2005 vintage, the Taylors Terra Feita displays a Deep purple black colour with magenta highlights. Classic black fruit aromas of cherry and cassis provide a dense and impenetrable backdrop for wild scents of mint, resin and gumcistus. On the palate the same intense black fruit character merges with rich dark flavours of and liquorice and chocolate. The tannins are muscular but well integrated and the wine finishes with an explosion of berry fruit and spice.

Chateau d'Aiguille Querre, 2004

New

Cotes de Castillion

Nose richly fruity and ripe, mouth tasty, powerful and long. Nice wine with good potential. The tannic structure is present, but roundness and fruit aromas are superimposed and form a rich, complex and suave.

The climate of this vintage was rather classic: overall temperate with a little fear in summer.
June and September experienced above-average temperatures, with the climate of the last month allowing grape ripening and concentration.

Chateau d'Angludet, 2004

Cantenac (Margaux) cru bourges exceptionnel.
Magnum 150cl

Robert Parker renowned wine critic writes of this wine... "I’m not sure this amazing effort doesn’t deserve an outstanding score. A big, flamboyant nose of melted licorice, creme de cassis, smoke, and charcoal is accompanied by deep, opulent, fleshy flavors, low acidity, ripe tannin, and abundant glycerin and fruit. Enjoy this sleeper of the vintage now and over the next 12-15 years. It is sexy stuff!"

Chateau de la Riviere, 2004

Fronsac

This wine from the very good 2004 is in a good place at the moment. Beautiful wine in a great place right now showing great value. Fruit forward for a Fronsac. Shows subtle signs of ageing. Very nice complexity, merlot, cab S. and cab F. all contributing to the different flavours present. Drinking very well at the moment, I would say this can stay a while longer in the cellar although opening now is certainly worth it.

Chateau Giscours, 2004

New

Margaux, 3rd Growth Classification

In 2004, Ch. Giscours produced a restrained and precise wine. Powerful yet sophisticated, densely fruited yet refined, this is one of the most structured wines of the Margaux appellation. The 2004 vintage is seriously under-rated; its cool style, elegant fruit and structure allows the terroir to shine through.

Chateau Gruaud Larose, 2004

St Julien, 2me Cru Classe

The ’04 has a deep garnet core. The bouquet is light and tobacco-scented, quite earthy with a hint of sous-bois. Perhaps it just lacks a little vigour considering its youth? The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, driven by the acidity, dark brambly black fruit, earthy, a touch of white pepper towards the loose-knit finish.

Chateau Margaux, 2004

Margaux Premiere Grand Cru Classe MAGNUM Bottle

With as much Merlot in the blend as the 1990 and 1996 the quality of this wine is as good as any vintage that winemaker Paul Pontallier can remember. This is as fabulous and exciting as the 2000 had been at a similar stage. The nose was simply beautiful - ripe, fine sweet, elegant and powerful with huge potential. The palate is expansive and multi-faceted. Alongside Latour, this is one of the two wines of the vintage.

*** 86 Points - Wine journal ***

Reviews
"The 2004 Meyney has a simple, ripe nose of redcurrant, cranberry and a touch of cigar box. It seems to have more Merlot than other Saint Estephe wines with a nice touch of cassis towards the finish. A comparatively “dainty” wine, very approachable but well crafted."Neil Martin Wine Journal 2009.

Cockburn Port, 2004

Quinta Dos Canais

Very deep and dark appearance. Blackish purple. Wonderful nose, fresh and fruity showing the larger percentage of Touriga Nacional. The palate is rich, with concentrated fruit flavours and tannins. This is how a single quinta vintage should be, with great potential for ageing but can also be appreciated without having to wait 20 years or more.

Graves Pessac-Leogan

** 90-92 Points - Robert Parker **

A strong effort from consultant Stephane Derenoncourt, the 2004 Domaine de Chevalier (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, and equal parts Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) is a classic Graves revealing a deep ruby/purple color, smoky, scorched earth, and graphite-like notes, and copious quantities of black currant and sweet cherry fruit. This heady, medium-bodied, elegant claret possesses the potential to develop into an exceptionally complex wine. It represents pure finesse married with impressive substance and texture.

Review:
This single harvest or colheita style port from the 2004 vintage has bright and brown in the centre, with a reddish halo. Long and complex nose overflowing elegance and depth. The red fruit aromas harmonized with the dried fruits and slight touch of vanilla. Remarkable sophistication and flavour, in a fine and expressive mouth.

The 2004 Lupicaia is a Tasty supertuscan that evolved throughout the evening.
Deep brick in colour with intense notes of raisins, chocolate and caramel, with a slight touch of savoury tomato juice with Worcester sauce. Great complexity on the palate with earth, leather, some dark bitter chocolate coupled with dried figs and raised notes as well. Soft developed tannins, extremely yummy.

Messias Port, 2004

Colheita Single Harvest Tawny Port

The Messias colheita port from the good 2004 vintage has been aged in a barrel until bottling in 2017.

It has a beautiful straw colour. Young, fruity fresh aromas that evolve over time, giving rise to a bouquet that brings out the aromas of dried fruits, aromas of roasting, wood and spices. Soft, harmony and complexity in the end. Great finish - excellent wine.

The extended barrel aging has given this wine a complex fusion of dried fruit and cedar notes. On the palate the wine is smooth and full bodies with plenty nuts and sweet fruit on the palate, fine balance. A tremendous finish which goes on forever.

Perrier Jouet, 2004

La Belle Epoque 2004 Makoto Azuma Edition Individual Presentation Case

Created by a renowned floral Japanese artist Makoto Azuma*, Belle Epoque Florale Edition is a reverential homage to Emile Galle's famous Art Nouveau design. This was originally inspired by Japanese art culture, and has become the iconic image of Perrier-Jouët artistic heritage through its prestige cuvee. Challenging the aesthetic boundaries, Makoto Azuma created a unique combined artwork, made of a single delicate botanical arabesque dotted with white Japanese anemones. These recall the original 1902 design, which is further reinforced with a handcrafted motif of golden flowers on the bottle of Belle Epoque 2004**, carefully selected by Cellar Master Hervé Deschamps.
