This wine remains one of the legends of Bordeaux. It has thrown off the backward, youthful style that existed during its first 25 years of life, and over the last 4-5 years has developed such secondary nuances as cedar and spice box. The creme de cassis, underlying floral note, full-bodied power, extraordinary purity, multilayered texture, and finish of over a minute are a showcase for what this Chateau accomplished in 1982. The wine is still amazingly youthful, vibrant, and pure. It appears capable of remaining fruity and vibrant in 2082! Thank God it is beginning to budge, as I would like to drink most of my supply before I kick the bucket.

Dolcetto, 1982

Giordano

A native black grape variety of Northern Italy grown almost exclusively in the provinces of Cuneo and Alessandria in Piedmont. It is relatively easy to cultivate, although it is susceptible to fungal diseases. It ripens before Barbera and Nebbiolo and is often grown in high north-facing sites which would be unsuitable for Nebbiolo. The finest Dolcetto wines come from grapes grown on soils rich with white marls, especially those found on the right bank of the River Tauro. The wines generally are low in tannins and acidity and are usually fruity and fragrant, often with hints of almonds.

The Morgan 1982 Vintage Port is an unusual find as there are very few notes on this wine.

In 2016 AHB of the Port Forum wrote of this wine
"Dark honey brown in colour, slightly hazy in appearance. Very little on the nose with hints of apricot and tangerine, oxidised. Smooth and soft in texture with barley sugar on the palate, with a gentle bitterness. Good acidity giving a pleasant lime and grapefruit undertone to the sugaryness. The lime, grapefruit and some hyacinth grows on the palate. The aftertaste is peppery with a long lime zest finish that is bitter and intense. Very long. A much better port than expected based on the appearance.
