Vintage & Producer
Canalicchio di Lombardi is a respected traditional producer based in the northern sector of Montalcino, an area noted for producing elegant, long-lived expressions of Sangiovese Grosso. The 1985 vintage stands as one of the finest in Montalcino’s history — a warm, dry growing season that yielded ripe, concentrated fruit and wines of remarkable balance and longevity.

Tasting Note
Now fully mature, this 1985 Brunello opens with classic tertiary aromas of dried cherry, leather, sweet herbs, and cedar, evolving into notes of balsamic, tobacco, and spice. The palate is soft and graceful, offering layers of dried red fruit, autumnal earth, and savoury warmth. The tannins are fine and resolved, and the finish lingers with a delicate sweetness and lifted acidity that keeps the wine fresh despite its age. A beautiful example of mature, traditionally crafted Brunello from a great vintage.

Condition & Drinkability
At full maturity; best enjoyed now. Decant gently and serve slightly below room temperature.
