2000 Chateau Moulin Haut Villars & 1997 Quinta de la Rosa Vintage Port - 2x75cl
Includes a double deluxe Gift Box With Wine Accessories

The 2000 Moulin Haut Villars is a classic Bordeaux blend with nice aromas of fresh red fruit and violets; the flavours follow the aromas, pretty round and juicy, the fruit is still youthful and the acidity brings out a bright quality. This is a nice food wine.

The 1997 Quinta de la Rosais a vintage port with great complexity. On the nose it displays attractive red fruit and sweet spicy notes. On the palate it is filled with luscious forward fruit and a long lingering finish. This certainly has the structure that you would expect with a port from a fully declared year.

Sherry

San Rafael Medium/ Amoroso Sherry
Barbadillo D.O. Jerez

*95 Points- Guía Repsol 2013*

Mahogany colour with delicate hints of topaz with aromas of dried fruit, plums and raisins. Sweet but well-balanced and beautifully silky palate.

A touch of Pedro Ximénez added to a dry oloroso results in this type of sherry known as “amoroso.” Translated into English as loving or affectionate, the name pays tribute to the smoothness obtained during the lengthy and traditional ageing period. Its alcohol content and body mean that it can be served on the rocks.

Serving Suggestion:
Enjoy around 15 degrees Celsius with blue cheese or desserts.

Only 1800 cases of the Quinta do Noval 2018 were made. Noval has had a run of vintage port declarations in recent years and 2018 is no exception. Only 1600 cases have been produced from the 2018 harvest and quantities are tiny. Managing director Christian Selly offers his insight into the vintage: ‘Like 2017, 2018 was a year of low yields, but for different reasons.

Claudia's Reserve Red 2017 - New Release
Red Douro Wine
Special Offer | was £16.95 | Now £9.95

This 2017 Claudia's Reserve red wine is a blend of 11%Touriga Nacional, 15%Touriga Franca and 74%Tinta Roriz, aged for 12 months in second use French oak. It is a ripe, tannic and herbal wine, this has been produced for aging. It shows a dark tannic side over the juicy black plum fruits and berry flavors. The wood aging shows in the way the wine smoothes out at the end, leaving a rich, full-bodied aftertaste.

Winemakers Notes
Most of the wines from the Douro are named after the vineyards where the grapes that make the wine come from. Difficult names, hardly to pronounce and easy to forget.

Review Scores
*** 99/100 James Suckling ***
*** 19/20 - Richard Mayson ***
*** 19/20 - Jancis Robinson ***

Tasting Notes
A small area at the heart of the Quinta do Noval vineyard planted with ungrafted vines and untouched by phylloxera. The word “Nacional” refers to the fact that the vines are Portuguese vines growing in Portuguese soil with no foreign root stock, and are therefore “attached to the soil of the Nation”. This great wine is a source of pride to the people of Portugal, and at its best the finest expression of the extraordinary terroir of Quinta do Noval.

Chateau Giscours, 2012

Margaux, 3rd Growth Classification

Reviews for the 2012 Chateau Giscours

The plump, rich and densely purple-colored 2012 Giscours, has turned out very well in this vintage, offering loads of fruit. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it has a moderate finish, and is medium to full-bodied, with excellent licorice and crème de cassis notes, and a broad, round, juicy mouthfeel. This is a wine that can be drunk young or cellared for 12-15 years. Drink: 2015 - 2030.
Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (218), April 2015

This deep, dark ruby-colored effort reveals developed and forward notes of licorice, roasted herbs, sweet black currants, incense and a touch of smoky barbecue/oaky characteristics.

Chateau Palmer, 2011

The 2011 Chateau Palmer red wine comes fifty years after the legendary 1961 vintage, this year’s wine stood out for its extremely low yields; the result of hail, and extreme heat in June. The concentrated result was both beautiful and unexpected, which should herald excellent ageing potential.

The opaque blue/purple-coloured 2011 Palmer reveals a stunning bouquet of licorice, truffles, camphor, spring flowers, black raspberries and black currants. One of the superstars of the vintage, this brilliant 2011 possesses superb concentration and purity, medium to full body, and remarkable length of close to a minute.

Croft Port, 2011

Vintage Port HALF BOTTLE 37.5cl

This 2011 Vintage Port Wine from Croft comes from the near perfect viticultural conditions in the Douro Valley and Croft's highly regarded Quinta da Roêda during 2011. This Quinta always forms the core around which Croft craft their Vintage Port blend, yet in this excellent year all of the blend's components have been sourced from here, producing a scented, exotic and lusciously opulent style. In the words of wine-maker David guimareans, the high perfomance of Quinta da Roêda gave this vintage 'an additional layer of density and depth of flavour' with silky, integrated tannins and powerful grip on the finish.

Taylor's Port, 2011

Vintage Port Single Bottle

The 2011 Taylor's Vintage Port Wine is made only in exceptional years, following the rigorous selection and tasting process to meet the requirements for declaration. Historically Taylor's has only declared a maximum of 3 vintages per decade. 2011 has been hailed as a classic vintage by all accounts. Ideal ripening conditions in this year have led Fladgate wine-maker David Guimaraens to conclude that the 2011s 'stand out for the purity of the fruit and the quality of the tannins, which are silky and well integrated but provide plenty of structure. The 2011 vintage is textbook Taylors in its structured aromatics and elegance (according to Fladgate Managing Director Adrian Bridge).

Chateau Lafite Rothschild, 2009

Pauillac 1er Grand Cru Classe,

*** 99+ Points Robert Parker ***

Reviews:
The main reason the 2009 Lafite Rothschild did not receive a perfect score is because the wine has closed down slightly, but it is unquestionably another profound Lafite, their greatest wine since the amazing 2003. Among the most powerful Lafites ever made (it came in at 13.59% alcohol), the final blend was 82.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot. The selection was incredibly severe with only 45% of the crop being utilized. A tight, but potentially gorgeous nose of graphite, black currants, licorice and camphor is followed by a full-bodied wine revealing the classic elegance, purity and delineated style of Lafite.

Chateau Mouton Rothschild, 2009

Pauillac 1er Grand Cru Classe

The wine has a very deep, almost black colour. The stylish and complex nose displays aromas of bilberry, blackcurrant and blonde tobacco that mingle with subtle cedarwood and spice notes. The same refinement and density are to be found on the palate with patrician, well-rounded tannins, revealing remarkable structure and balance right through to the long and opulent finish. A great success for a Mouton Rothschild that will undoubtedly get the utmost out of the exceptional qualities for which the 2009 vintage has already been hailed.

Tasting notes
The Wine Advocate - "The 2009 Mouton Rothschild has a striking label from Anish Kapoor.

Gevrey Chambertin, 2009

Gevrey Chambertin Aux Echezeaux 2009 Vieille Vigne Domaine Fourrier

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echezeaux opens with an exuberant bouquet of roses, berries and spices. It shows gorgeous depth and finesse in a weightless, elegant style. The round, textured finish is gorgeous. Aux Echezeaux is on the border with Morey. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (AG) (5/2011)

88-91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound
(from .47 ha parcel planted in 1930) A very fresh, cool and bright nose speaks of red berry fruit, warm earth, underbrush and a hint of the sauvage that carries over to the supple but entirely serious medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent precision on the firm, focused and persistent finish.

Chateau Cos d'Estournel, 2008

St Estephe, 2eme Cru Classe (Half Bottle 37.5cl)

The 2008 Cos d'Estournel is inky/purple-hued and is still very young most likely to improve even further as the wine came out of malolactic fermentation very late. It reveals exceptionally precise, fresh aromas of black fruits, crushed rocks, licorice, flowers, and subtle smoke. Dense and high in tannin, the extraordinary richness of polyphenols has given the wine power, substance, and depth, but the sweetness of the tannin and the seemingly low acidity, even though the wine tastes remarkably fresh and the pH is only 3.57 (compared to pH’s close to 4 when the fruit is this ripe), has given the wine a precision and elegance that is remarkable.

Dom Perignon, 2006

Champagne in Presentation Case

"The wine’s opulence – contained and succulent, round at heart – reveals itself in the mouth". The envelope slides and stretches, and the wine becomes more complex and edgy, silkier than it is creamy. "The whole eventually melts into an exquisite bitterness tinged with the briny taste of the sea".

ON THE NOSE

The immediate impression is of the mildness of the pure, airy, bright bouquet. A floral, fruity pastel tone then unfolds and quickly darkens into candied fruit, ripe hay and toasted notes, along with hints of licorice.

Chateau Duhart Milon Rothschild, 2005

Pauillac 4th Growth Classification

*** 93 points - Robert Parker ***

Reviews
"This property, which has benefitted enormously from tremendous investments from the Rothschild family that owns Lafite, has turned out a dense purple-colored wine in 2005. Offering broad, expansive, supple and silky tannin as well as loads of Asian plum sauce, blackcurrants, and sweet cherries, this wine is seductive, medium to full-bodied, and luscious. Cossart Gordon Madeira, 2005

2005 Colheita Malmsey Madeira

Cossart Gordon 2005 Malmsey Colheita Madeira is made from grapes harvested in a single year. A colheita Madeira is therefore a type of dated Madeira, like vintage Madeira. It has to be aged for a minimum of 5 years in barrels before it can be called a Colheita Madeira (for Colheita Port it is a minimum of 7 years). There is no maximum age limit for Colheita Madeira but after 19 years ageing it can then legally be called Vintage Madeira. This barrel ageing gives the Colheita Madeira some of the character and complexity of a young vintage Madeira. Madeira is a complex, interesting wine and is made in virtually every vintage.
