Grand Champagne Cognac

A 1996 vintage cognac from Delamain, using first growth grapes from Mainxe. It was matured in their hallowed Vintage Cellar in Jarnac for before selection and bottling.

The family-run house of Delamain is one of the oldest Cognac producers, founded in 1762. The company is rare in that it produces no VS or VSOP Cognac, and also chooses to reduce bottle strengths down to 40% abv with 'faibles' (old, low-strength Cognacs) rather than with water.

Many of them were early landed, late bottled cognacs: cognacs that were shipped to Great Britain one or two years after the distillation to ageing them in the humid warehouses near the chalky coasts of England. A rare bottling of cognac from a company who were mainly sought after for their apertifs.
Founded in 1868 by Eugène Cusenier in Ornans, Eastern France.

The label reads: This brandy was shipped in 1935 and was bottled by Grants of St James after being held in cask for 26 years.
A large quantity of the original shipment was lost during this period due to evaporation, and the remainder has developed into a magnificent brandy with a mellow bouquet.

Grants of St. James was a renowned British wine and spirits merchant with a rich history dating back to the 18th century. …

De La Motte Fine Petite Champagne, Cognac 1914

Believed 1914.

A bottle of Petite Champagne cognac distilled in the same year as the breakout of World War I. This old brandy was produced by De La Motte, located in Sainte-Lheurine. The nose reveals notes of burnt sugar, toffee, hints of chocolate and Brazil nuts. On the palate, the cognac is rich and flavoursome, with an extraordinarily fine balance.

Chairman's Exceedingly Old and Rare Champagne Cognac

This ultra rare cognac was imported by Eldridge Pope & Co., a traditional UK brewer based in Dorchester, Dorset, established in 1837. The brewery closed in July 2003.

The cognac is believed to be bottled by A. Hardy as Eldridge and Pope were sourcing their cognac from this historic producer.

With a history dating back to 1863, Cognac Hardy is well known for quality cognacs and traditional production methods.
