Taylor's Port, 2007
Vintage Port
96 Points Wine Advocate
This 2007 Vintage Port is opaque, purple black in colour with a narrow violet rim. Characteristically stylish and racy, with a nose of dense blackcurrant and woodland fruit overlaid with discreet herbal nuances and scents of violet and rose petals. As usual, the classic Taylor elegance and understatement conceal the wine’s energy and vigour. On the palate, it displays the lean, sinewy and tightly knit tannins, which are so much a feature of the Taylor style, and the vibrant and clearly delineated fruit flavours, which are the hallmark of the 2007 vintage.
Reviews: "The 2007 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port is a blend of multiple sites meant to express the house style in a great year. …

Warre's Port, 2007
Bottle Matured Late Bottled Vintage In Gift Box
RRP £25.99 | Our Price £19.97
The 2007 Late Bottled Vintage Port from Warre's is still made in the traditional way - bottled unfiltered then aged for a number of years before being released only when it is ready. As a result, it is vastly superior to most other LBV Ports, and a brilliant value substitute for full Vintage Port.
The 2007 is full-bodied, rich and sweet; deep, dark fruit flavours; long, elegant finish.
Because it is unfiltered, this LBV should be decanted before serving to leave the sediment behind.
This prolonged bottle ageing is crucial to the development of the superb “nose” and flavour which lend this Port a style and complexity very much akin to that of Vintage Port. …

Warre's Vintage Port, 2007
Vintage Port HALF BOTTLE 37.5cl
93 Points - Wine Advocate.
95 Points - In Asia
"The 2007 Warre Vintage Port is one of the stars of the vintage. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it displays an expressive bouquet of Asian spices, incense, lavender, blackberry, and fruitcake. Plush on the palate with outstanding volume, it exhibits a sense of elegance as well as power. Savory flavors, plenty of structure for the long haul, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish suggests two decades of cellaring are in order. This superb effort should still be drinking well in 2050." Pierre Rovani Wine Advocate.
"A little mute to begin but with a fair bit of swirling reveals notes of mincemeat pie, dried plums and dark chocolate plus some meaty / gamey aromas. …

Chateau Batailley, 2006
Pauillac 5me Cru Classe
*** 91 Points Robert Parker ***
Reviews"A real sleeper of the vintage and a sensational effort from the Casteja family, Batailley has turned out a complete, powerful, classic Pauillac, with oodles of black currant fruit as well as hints of new saddle leather, toast, chocolate, and forest floor. Full-bodied, dense, and built for the long haul, this wine should be reasonably drinkable in 4-5 years and last for two decades. Good value" Robert Parker, Wine Advocate 2009.

Reviews:
The Wine Advocate - "A fabulous sleeper of the vintage, this estate, which has made a succession of brilliant wines under the administration of Bordeaux's visionary Bernard Magrez, has turned out another terrific effort. A blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this wine exhibits a sensational smorgasbord of aromas ranging from red and black fruits to toasty oak to licorice, high quality cigar tobacco, and spice box. Chateau Rieussec, 2006
Sauternes 1er Cru Classe
2006 is a very fine year for this region, possibly superior to any of the vintages between 2000 and 1991. The wines possess plenty of botrytis, but neither the impressive definition nor supreme elegance of the 2001s. This is a sweet, full-bodied, fat, concentrated, intense effort that was showing well - Robert PArker 2004.

Dom Perignon, 2006
Champagne in Presentation Case
"The wine’s opulence – contained and succulent, round at heart – reveals itself in the mouth". The envelope slides and stretches, and the wine becomes more complex and edgy, silkier than it is creamy. "The whole eventually melts into an exquisite bitterness tinged with the briny taste of the sea".
ON THE NOSE
The immediate impression is of the mildness of the pure, airy, bright bouquet. A floral, fruity pastel tone then unfolds and quickly darkens into candied fruit, ripe hay and toasted notes, along with hints of licorice.

Graham's Port, 2006
Quinta dos Malvedos
in Graham's wooden box
Deep, dark red colour with just a hint of fading along the edge. Gorgeous black cherry and plum aromas, with a wonderful fresh fruit fragrance and distinct notes of eucalyptus and hints of mint and liquorice. Luscious and opulent flavours coat the palate with full, rich blackberry fruit, intense and compact. A supple, muscular wine very pleasurable to drink now but with ample further ageing potential. Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port, 2006
Vintage Port
The Quinta Do Vesuvio Vintage Port 2006, was 'declared' as a vintage by the shipper.
Classic power with a lovely violet-scented and peppery nose and delicious layers of opulent blackberry fruit within a finely structured tannin framework that ensures very good aging potential. The hot summer of 2006 has added an additional layer of concentration to the traditional Vesuvio velvety richness and depth. This is a very great Vesuvio Vintage Port.
This most beautifully located quinta (farm), down on the water's edge of the River Douro has been revitalised by the Symington family. This is a major 'house' that continues the tradition of treading the grapes in the ancient stone 'lagares' (troughs). …

Ambassade de Sauternes, 2005
Grand Vin De Bordeaux
Half-bottle 37.5cl
The 2005 Ambassade de Sauternes is a bright gold colour. Perfectly balanced. Not sweet, and yet explosively sweet with flavors of fresh nectarine, scents of jasmine and honeysuckle. The sweetness pours out of the freshness, so it's impossible to taste them apart. The flavors last, perhaps because it's the kind of wine you'll want to roll around in your mouth over and over.

Chateau Branaire-Ducru, 2005
St Julien, 4th Growth Classification
*** 95 Points - Robert Parker ***
From the classic 2005 vintage this is one of the greatest Chateau Branaire-Ducru's bottled and a flamboyant and expressive example of St Julien. Highly rated by the critics and for good reason. The wine is structured and rich, full bodied and harmonic.
The wine is still young and will drink best after 2020.
Robert Parker- 95 Points
"As usual, the 2005 Branaire-Ducru is one of the more distinctive wines of St.-Julien. Proprietor Patrick Maroteaux has turned out another classic. While not as opulent or fleshy as the 2003, and it remains to be seen if it will eclipse the 2000, …

Chateau Cantemerle, 2005
Haut Medoc 5me Cru Classe
This Bordeaux has bags of fruit, tannin and acidity, all tied up in an impeccably-balanced, polished package. Sweet cassis fruit is accompanied by a spicy edge and a long, fresh lift. This is very pretty now but ideally wants another five years to really get going, and will easily keep for another five after that.

Chateau Duhart Milon Rothschild, 2005
Pauillac 4th Growth Classification
*** 93 points - Robert Parker ***
Reviews
"This property, which has benefitted enormously from tremendous investments from the Rothschild family that owns Lafite, has turned out a dense purple-colored wine in 2005. Offering broad, expansive, supple and silky tannin as well as loads of Asian plum sauce, blackcurrants, and sweet cherries, this wine is seductive, medium to full-bodied, and luscious. This successful effort from the Rothschilds should continue to drink well for at least another two decades.e robert parker.

Chateau Ferriere, 2005
Margaux 3rd Growth Classification
The 2005 Chateau Ferriere is now in its optimum drinking window. The smallest property of all the Cru Classs, this little-known estate has become one of the best kept secrets in the Medoc. This is partly down to the fact that it was, until very recently, distributed exclusively in France. With its high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon this is reminiscent of a mini-Ch. Margaux in style. It has excellent concentration and is quite masculine for a Margaux yet polished.

WA - Beautiful, elegant red, blue and black fruits (89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Merlot) as well as some graphite and spice notes jump from the glass of the 2005 Lafite Rothschild. Medium-bodied, with superb purity and texture, this is not a blockbuster by any means, but a meticulously made, lovely-textured Pauillac. Long and pure, this wine should drink well for 25-30 years. Chateau Marquis D'Alesme-Becker, 2005
Margaux 3rd Growth Classification
The 2005 Marquis d'Alsme Becker is pouring deep brick red, the delicate aroma of dark forest fruit tells you that you have a Margaux in your hand. Full bodied, but not heavy, this is a complex blend of grapes and flavours that has nothing going against it. Not as harsh as some Margaux’s are, this wine needs to be savoured in the mouth to explore its full taste.

Chateau Montrose, 2005
St Estephe 2me Cru Classe
2005 Chateau Montrose
Reviews
97/100 Neal Martin, Vinous Table (vinous.com), July 2018
The 2005 Montrose replicated previous showings of that formidable wine. The bouquet is backward and here exuding more black fruit than previous bottles, rendering it more akin to the 2010 Montrose. With aeration those telltale scents of pencil lead emerge, although this bottle shows a touch more brine. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, a Montrose with huge backbone, solid to the point of being obdurate. Yet that would be overlooking the poise and delineation of this Montrose, the manner in which it gathers momentum towards the grippy finish. …

Chateau Talbot, 2005
St Julien 4th Growth Classification
An outstanding 90 Point wine. Robert Parker writes of this wine..."A strong effort for Talbot, the 2005 is more showy and forward than most wines of this vintage. While there is plenty of tannin, it is sweet and well-concealed behind an intriguing bouquet of sweet herbs, licorice, smoked game, black currants, and cherries. This fleshy, medium to full-bodied St.-Julien exhibits a silky sweetness to its texture and tannins". Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020+.

Chateauneuf du Pape, 2005
Domaine Font de Michelle, Etienne Gonnet
From the outstanding 2005 Rhone Vintage. A profound, smokey, leathery nose with an intriguing aromatic note like sandalwood. Beautiful palate with a gorgeous, silky texture, and a very sweet impression. Intense, wonderfully scented Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Producer Guilllaume Gonnet produces this Châteauneuf-du-Pape from equal quantities of Grenache and Syrah, the vines farmed biodynamically and on average, between 50 and 90 years old. That age of vine leads to an especially intense, pure Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with tonnes of dark fruit aroma, touches of mixed herbs and liquorice. As expected for wines of this area, the alcohol is up around 14.5% but this is still a remarkably versatile food wine. …
