Croft Vintage Port, 1991 Review:

Wine Spectator awarded this 94 points!

Croft vintages are only declared a few times a decade, when a remarkable year has been had. This is a rounded, supple port with a phenomenal mouthfeel. Will continue to keep for another five or so years.

Deep, opaque, just turning on the rim. Still quite a dense nose with underlying plummy fruit and floral maturity just starting to emerge. Full, rich and fleshy with some bitter chocolate intensity at the core and a firm tannic grip building towards the finish. Alc: 20.5%.

1991 Calem Vintage Port Review:
Quite impressive and intense nose that is also complex. Almost candied and burnt prunes in the nose mixing nicely with scorched earth and vanilla. The prunes carries nicely into the palate and also the scorched earth. It is an enjoyable wine and there is also a great fruit acidity that really carries well into the medium aftertaste.
