Description
The 1990 Musar is a blend of Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Carignan from this well-known and highly regarded Lebanese winery.
It has a light but very limpid colour with faint bricking at the rim. A complex nose of sweet tertiary fruit, faded and illuminated cherry - oxidative notes as befits the house style, Savoury notes, a slight balsamic notes. Loads of dried roses, cranberry, dried orange, sandalwood. Burgundian on the palate with aggressive acidity and a tart finish [Note: The grapes were picked early on account of war.]. light-bodied but good persistence on the finish.
Chateau Musar is often referred to as the Lafite of the Lebanon. Wine maker Gaston Hochar defied the odds producing a string of great wines during the Lebanon War.
