Claudia’s wine from Quevedo is an expression of what the winemaker together with owner Teresa, love most on each harvest. Claudia’s wine is a blend of grapes from different plots but one thing is certain, all the grapes were hand picked and treated as small treasures!
2019 Claudia's Branco, Douro white:
Reasonably solid in the mid-palate, the most important issue here is its fine combo of depth, finesse and freshness. It handles its oak beautifully. Smooth and rounded, it should drink well, good on its own, but better with food. It finishes with just a bit of steel. The concentration is subtle--it doesn't seem big and fat--but it is real enough.
2018 Claudia's Tinto, Douro Red:
This 2018 Claudia's Reserve red wine is a roughly equal blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz with dollops of Tinto Cão and Tinta Amarela, aged for 12 months in second use French oak. Ripe, tannic and herbal , this wine has been produced for aging. It shows a dark tannic side over the juicy black plum fruits and berry flavors. The wood aging shows in the way the wine smooths out at the end, leaving a rich, full-bodied aftertaste.
