1995 Pichon Longueviille Baron
1995 Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron
Over the space of a few years, the grand vin of Pichon Longueville Baron has established itself as one of the best crus of Pauillac. Full and concentrated, it has unique, fine-grained tannins which make it absolutely delicious. Indeed, like the best wines of the appellation, it is extremely effective at marrying contrasts: power and finesse.

93 points James Suckling
This is surprisingly delicate and fine now with currant and spice character and hints of nuts. It is full bodied with refined texture and a beautiful finish.(6/2016)

91 points Vinous
The 1995 Pichon-Baron is a wine that tasted extremely well several years ago, but I wonder how well it is continuing to evolve. The bouquet feels a little smudged, scents of iodine and cassis merging with blackberry and pencil lead; it is a little meandering and missing a sense of focus. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, crisp acidity and good density, but it doesn’t possess the clarity and detail of more recent vintages. Solid, but lacks flair. Tasted at the Pichon-Baron vertical at the château. (NM) (1/2019)

1996 Chateau Yquem
Reviews for Chateau Yquem 1996
Compared with the flamboyant aromatics of the 1997, Yquem's 1996 plays it closer to the vest, although there is a lot going on. Light gold with a tight but promising nose of roasted hazelnuts intermixed with creme brulee, vanilla beans, honey, orange marmalade, and peaches, this medium to full-bodied offering reveals loads of power in its restrained, measured personality. There is admirable acidity, weight, texture, and purity in this impeccably made Yquem. However, patience will be a virtue. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2060.

Score: 95+ Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (146), April 2003
This performed brilliantly at the Roberson's vertical, even outclassing the lauded 1997! A moderate golden hue. The nose is closed at first, very muted as it was before. But the palate is where it is all going on: honey, white peach, excellent levels of botrytis with a touch of barleysugar and spice towards the finish. Very long, blossoming in the glass with the reluctant nose eventually offering some lovely coconut and almond aromas. This could be a really great Yquem in another couple of decades. Patience is needed. Drink 2025-2050. Tasted November 2006

1970 Fonseca Vintage Port
The 1970 Fonseca Vintage Port is an outstanding port from a classic vintage. The Fonseca 1970 is now fully mature, and is probably one of the finest glasses of port that you will ever taste. A wine of this quality will age superbly for many decades to come. A magnificent wine with abundant ripe fruit flavours and concentrated tannins. Perfect harmony and balance places this Port amongst the all-time greats.
