Description

Carricante – Catarratto blends are a specialty of eastern Sicily, notably in wines made around the ancient stratovolcano, Mt. Etna. Both varieties are quintessentially Sicilian;
These wines are refreshing and bright, offering a plethora of citrus characters ranging from lime to grapefruit to orange. This is often backed up by more cooling herbal notes of mint and even sometimes aniseed, and when there is no oak treatment or lees contact, green apple. A volcanic wine!
