Chateau Rieussec, 1978

Sauternes 1er Cru Classe
Sweet White Wine

Beautiful copper in colour with bouquet that can fill a room with apricots and gardenia with a hint of ocean breeze. In the mouth it is wonderfully delicious as most desert wines are but what set this apart is it's not so sweet with good firm tannin structure and a bit of honeydew and cinnamon on the back end. Also as with most desert wines the finish lingers for (seemingly) hours and butter, honey, and citrus coating your throat. This wine is absolutely wonderful.

Château Rieussec is a prestigious Bordeaux wine estate located in the Sauternes appellation, within the Bordeaux wine region of France.

Chateau Rieussec, 1975

Sauternes 1er Grand Cru Classe
Sweet White Wine

** Robert Parker 90 Points **

Still remarkably youthful looking, and slow to evolve, this is a powerful, concentrated, and rich Sauternes, with decades of life ahead of it. Lemon, tropical fruit, and vanillin oaky aromas titillate the olfactory glands. Tight, yet rich, full-bodied flavors reveal marvelous balance and richness. It is aging at a snail's pace.

Château Rieussec is a prestigious Bordeaux wine estate located in the Sauternes appellation, within the Bordeaux wine region of France. The estate is well-known for producing sweet white wines, specifically Sauternes, which are crafted from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes affected by noble rot.

***91 Points - CellarTracker***
This beautiful Sauternes from the excellent 1970 vintage displays an orange/copper hue. On the nose and palate aromas of orange marmalade, delicate caramel, and layers of honey create a sweet and elegant wine, with great acidity which gives it verve. Drinking very nicely now, but with lots of life left.

Chateau Rieussec, 1967

Sauternes 1er Cru Classe
Sweet White Wine

Rieussec made a very good 1967. It is lighter in style and body than some of the more recent vintages of Rieussec, but richly fruity and spicy, with an aroma of roasted nuts.

Noble rot, or botrytis cinerea, is a beneficial fungus that dehydrates the grapes, concentrating sugars and flavors, resulting in rich, complex, and sweet wines.

St Emilion Grand cru
*** 94 Points- Decanter ****
*** 93 Points - Wine Advocate ***

The 2018 Quinault L'Enclos is an impressive wine rated in the outstanding category: a subtle blend of floral, mineral and spicy notes. Already very elegant and fine, one is tempted to taste it immediately, but a few years in the cellar will make it even more delicious!

"The 2018 is a magnificent wine, very impressive. It pulses with energy from start to finish. The aromas alone are simply captivating" - Antonio Galloni -

"The quality of the terroir continues to impress" - Robert Parker - Château Quinault L'Enclos is one of the last estates located in an urban area, in the heart of Livorno.

Chateau Quinault l'Enclos, 2006

St Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux

From the excellent 2006 vintage this Quinault l'Enclos

Reviews: "An extraordinarily elegant Quinault with remarkable purity and texture has been produced in 2006. This blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc achieved 13.5% natural alcohol, and enjoys every state-of-the-art winemaking technique, most of them Burgundy-inspired (especially the cold pre-fermentation maceration, malolactic in barrel, and aging on its lees with plenty of batonnage). A top-notch success for proprietor Alain Raynaud and his wife, Francoise, this deep ruby/purple-colored effort exhibits sweet aromas of spring flowers, blueberries, and raspberries.

Chateau Poujeaux, 1997

Moulis en Medoc, Bordeaux

Chateau Potensac, 1996

Medoc, Bordeaux

The Chateau Potensac 1996 has plenty of cassis, leaf and cedar to begin with. The wine is fresh and gains in the glass. The fruits have a ripe, creamy edge from the vintage but the wine remains savoury and true. It has ample structure beneath the flesh and is still drinking nicely. A beautiful mature older Medoc.

Chateau Pichon-Longueville, Baron, 1996

Pauillac, 2nd Growth Classification
*** 94 Points, The Wine Advocate ***

The 1996 Pichon-Longueville Baron has a deep garnet core with some bricking on the rim. The nose is fragrant and generous with more red fruit than black, cedar and tobacco, fine definition, perhaps a little rustic in keeping with the winemaking at the time, but certainly giving lots of pleasure. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin -- a cohesive Pauillac with plenty of depth and fine balance. The acidity lends this plenty of freshness and it does not shortchange you with plenty of tarry, cedary fruit. You come away with the impression that this Pichon Baron is going to continue to improve although I would not burn anyone at the stake for opening it now.

Chateau Pichon-Longueville, Baron, 1995

Pauillac 2eme Cru Classe

1995 Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron
Over the space of a few years, the grand vin of Pichon Longueville Baron has established itself as one of the best crus of Pauillac. Full and concentrated, it has unique, fine-grained tannins which make it absolutely delicious. Indeed, like the best wines of the appellation, it is extremely effective at marrying contrasts: power and finesse.

93 points James Suckling
This is surprisingly delicate and fine now with currant and spice character and hints of nuts. It is full bodied with refined texture and a beautiful finish. Inner quote mark (6/2016)

91 points Vinous
The 1995 Pichon-Baron is a wine that tasted extremely well several years ago, but I wonder how well it is continuing to evolve.

Chateau Pavie Macquin, 2004

St. Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux
** 93 Points - Robert Parker **

The 2004 Pavie Macquin has a good intensity in the glass and equally deep, bold, soft-skinned, fully-ripe black cherry aromas on the nose. A very welcoming style with plush-textured, gently toasted black cherry and red fruit on the palate. The tannins are fairly soft at first then build in the mouth, while the colour belies a soft, careful extraction. A pure st-émilion with a good sense of luscious expressive fruit and a distinctive mineral quality.

Situated on clay and limestone soils above the better known Pavie-Decesse, this 37.5-acre vineyard is planted with 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
