Justino's Madeira, 1996
Justino's - Tinta Negra Madeira
The wine has a dark amber color with a lucid and consistent yellow edge. More than a Marsala, the impact of the aroma is like a great Viccotto from the Marche region, although it is much finer. The bouquet has less caramel and is less volatile with more notes of prune, dried fruit and bitter coffee. The mouthfeel is sweet and caramel-like with notes of black tea and coffee, while the finish is invigorated by a distinct acidity.

Justino's - Boal
Decanter 2021 Gold Award Winner
***96 Points- Decanter Gold Award Winner 2021***
" Medium mahogany with brilliant bronze/copper flashes. Magical complex aromas, Maple syrup, roasted pecan, dates, prunes, bergamot, ginger snap biscuits, expresso coffee, hot bitumen roads. Incredible depth in the mouth the aromas indicate sweet but the flavour impression is dry and fulsome, though with vanilla, mocha, praline, caramelised citrus, earthy brazil nuts, figs. A beautiful pithy counterbalance which is incredibly appetite inducing springs into play. The finish is almost trance inducing with minutes of flavour coating the mouth and almost never fading. …

Primitivo, 1996
di Manduria, Giordano
Primitivo is a dark-skinned grape known for producing inky, tannic wines, particularly Primitivo di Manduria and its naturally sweet Dolce Naturale variant. A classic Primitivo wine is high in both alcohol and tannins, intensely flavored and deeply colored. A certain bitterness is often found in Primitivo which, combined with its mouth-puckering tannins, means that it needs a few years in either bottle or barrel.

Quinta de la Rosa, 1996
Sale
Vintage Port
SpeciaL Offer | Was £89 | Now £60
La Rosa's classic house style achieved by slow maceration in traditional granite 'Lagares' has produced a wine full of luscious forward fruit with a very attractive nose and a long velvety slightly drier finish across the palate
La Rosa is a vertically integrated Quinta rising to 450 metres above sea level, boasting many hidden micro climates within its cirtilage. Where possible we vintage and mature these small 'lotes' separately in order to achieve the maximum complexity in the finished ports, which would not have been possible from a less diversely planted property.

Quinta do Noval Nacional, 1996
Vintage Port
This wine is a mysterious phenomenon, a magical wine produced in extremely limited quantities and only in a few years each decade. It is the expression of a terroir and confirms something that is for me a deeply held belief. The Nacional is great because of the grapes and where they come from, not because of anything particular that we do. It has a unique personality, an extraordinary intensity and, even after many years of ageing, retains an astonishing youthfulness.

Rosso Toscano, 1996
Balifico - Castello di Volpaia
Balifico, mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon for Volpaia’s Supertuscan. The first Supertuscans were created in the 1970s by Chianti Classico producers who rejected a restrictive government regulation that dictated which grapes were required to go into wines labeled as from the region.
As such, to identify those with superior quality, the international press informally introduced the term: Supertuscan. Nevertheless these high quality wines were soon acclaimed by the International press as Supertuscans.

1995 Burmester Vintage Port, 1995
Vintage Port
The 1995 Burmester Vintage Port is an elegant wine with lovely, aromatic fruit on the nose. Hints of black-fruit, cherry, figs and roasted coffee. The Port has a dark core lightening at the edges. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a sleek, racy, long, sweet fruit finish. Outstanding 92/100. VWP tasting 01/20
In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, a cereal trading company. Barolo, 1995
Giacomo Borgogno
Barolo is known as the 'king of wines' and is made from the Nebbiolo grape. Heady aromas of rose, leather, vanilla, cherry, pepper, cranberry, strawberry. Fruits are perfectly knitted with the tannins and acidity. It's a powerful wine but remarkably subtle. Don't underestimate it and certainly serve it with food to show at it's best. Nebbiolo has naturally high tannins and acidity, so it will take on full-flavoured, rich foods no problem at all.

Carruades de Chateau Lafite, 1995
Pauillac
Carruades de Chateau Lafite is the 2nd label of Chateau Lafite Rothschild.
Reviews
I have noticed in my tastings that the second wine of Lafite-Rothschild, Carruades de Lafite, has improved over recent years. The 1995 is a 40% Merlot/60% Cabernet Sauvignon blend. It exhibits more of the trademark characteristics of its bigger sibling. Elegant, with spicy new oak, lead pencil, and creamy black currant fruit, this is a medium-bodied, finesse-styled wine with excellent purity and overall equilibrium. It is much more accessible than the 1996 - Robert PArker erobert parker
