Chateau Montrose, 1966
St Estephe 2eme Cru Classe
Reviews: "The 1966 is still dark ruby with a peppery, very spice, yet tight, relatively closed bouquet. The wine is austere and tough on the palate, with good fruit and firm, rough tannins. Comparatively, it is not as massive or as rich as the 1970, 1964, or 1961, but is still backward and austere" PArker Wine Advocate 1996

Chateau Mouton Rothschild, 1966
Pauillac 1st Growth Classification
Very top shoulder. Label bin soiled.
Robert Parker writes '... the dark garnet colour and classic sweet, spicy, tobacco, coffee, and black currant aromas are enticing. The wine still has powerful tannin in the finish, which contributes to the dry, austere character this example has always exhibited. One of the more intellectually-styled Moutons, the 1966 is a classic example of the vintage, as well as of the chateau's Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated style. Tasted 10/97 Bordeaux, 3rd Edition. Rating 90/100 (outstanding)
Château Mouton Rothschild, nestled in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France, is among the most esteemed wine estates globally, celebrated for its rich history and exceptional red wines. …

Cotes du Rhone, 1966
Quien & Co
Côtes du Rhône is a huge appellation in the south of France encompassing 40,300 ha. Plenty of white and rosé wine is produced in Côtes du Rhône but there can be no doubt that red is king. But what they all invariably have in common is a fabulous sense of place and lashings of personality and character. …
