Reserva, Douro Red

The nose is aromatic, concentrated and powerful. It reveals notes of cassis, blackberry and light notes of licorice, nicely combined with notes of blackberry, small berries and notes of flowers, olive, local vegetation, mocha, Ceylon tea and Sichuan pepper. On the palate it is fruity, balanced, juicy and somewhat minerally. The tannins are firm, which guarantees good aging.

Grapes: Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional & Tinta Barroca.

Careful selection of grapes during the manual harvest. Aged 18 months in new French and American oak barrels and 12 months in the bottle

The 20 Years White Port is a field blend from old vines (50 plus years). It was bottled in January 2015 with 105 grams per liter of residual sugar. Fresh, lovely and delectable, this is perfectly balanced, focused and young. There isn't a lot of complexity early on (noting that this a 20), but it does show some more mature flavors as it airs and warms. The NV 30 Year Old Tawny Porto was bottled in 2017 with a bar-top cork and 114 grams of sugar. Another complex, crisp tawny, this adds power and depth to the 20 this issue, but it is mostly along the same lines. Showing exceptional length on the finish, this lingers beautifully.
