Olivier Bernard has transformed Domaine de Chevalier during his tenure. In the early days, an ambitious re-planting program was undertaken, which took many years before the fruits of his labours could be enjoyed. The 2015 is gorgeous; a profound yet reserved Domaine de Chevalier that reveals itself slowly. Initially it is understated with notes of smoky cassis. Blandys 10 Year Old Bual was aged for 10 years in seasoned American oak casks in the traditional Canteiro system, whereby the casks of this wine are gradually transferred from the top floors of the lodge, where it is naturally warmer, to the middle floors and eventually to the ground floor where it is cooler. During this totally natural ageing, the wine underwent regular racking before finally being bottled.

Reviews:Going back and forth, the Taylor's 2009 has a lighter nose than the 2007 with precise dark cherry, Seville orange, fresh fig and a hint of scorched soil. The palate is full-bodied packed with ripe black cherries, fresh fig and white pepper; very harmonious and focused although I feel that the 2007 has a little more depth and persistency. Very pretty and very pure, this Taylor's may well put on weight with a couple of years in bottle and merit a higher mark. Tasted May 2011.

The 1994 Offley Vintage Port has a beautiful light brick color. The nose is warm, intense and pervasive, with a lot of roasted almonds, black cherry and dark chocolate. There is quite a bit of alcohol upfront, reminding of an Amaretto. Full bodied with a smooth and creamy texture and the same layers of flavors on the palate. The chocolate lingers for minutes.
