Fonseca Port, 1966

Vintage Port
High Shoulder Level
Plain Label

The Fonseca 1966 vintage port has a russet rim around an intense brick-red centre. The nose is elegant and restrained, with very fine dark berry fruit at the core, still linear and undeveloped. The fruit is enveloped in a subtle aura of floral scent and notes of aromatic wood. Dense and firm on the palate, still delivering a fresh and youthful fruitiness and vinosity alongside warm flavours of liquorice and black coffee. Still reserved and showing wonderful poise and finesse, the Fonseca 1966 is without any doubt one of the finest Ports of this exceptional year.

Fonseca is one of the great port lodges, producing the most exotic and most complex port.

Fonseca Port, 1983

Vintage Port

Fonseca is one of our all-time favourites. Fonseca's 1983-vintage Port is made with a harvest that survived the first snowfall in Pinhão in 20 years and heavy rain through the spring. The result is intense aromas of dark chocolate, prune, fig and hints of rich double cream. Consider pairing its chocolate, fig, prune, raisin and walnut flavours with a cheeseboard or with festive fare over the Christmas period.

An outstanding Port rating 92/100 from an outstanding vintage. Robert Parker writes of this port... "Fonseca is one of the great port lodges, producing the most exotic and most complex port.

Fonseca Port, 1984

Guimaraens Single Quinta Vintage Port

Fonseca is one of the great port lodges, producing the most exotic and most complex port. It excels in its magnificently complex, intense bouquet of plummy, cedary, spicy fruit and long, broad, expansive flavors. With its lush, seductive character, one might call it the Pomerol of Vintage ports. The 1984 is magnificently scented, full-bodied, creamy, rather forward, but showing great length and character.

Framingham, 2022

Framingham Noble Riesling, Marlborough, New Zealand
Sweet white wine

Framingham Noble Riesling is a sweet, botrytis affected wine inspiredby the classic German “Beerenauslese” style. Botrytis is a fungus that concentrates sugars in the fruit by dehydration and imparts distinctive flavours. The wine is deeply concentrated, yet elegant and not cloying as a result of its vibrant acidity and naturally low alcohol

Bright, brassy gold in colour. Complex aromatics showing significant, but not complete, botrytis influence. Nice mix of stone fruit, honey and pithy marmalade-like citrus, with hints of “gin and tonic”. The palate is tight, but has richness and viscosity.

Graham's Port, 1963

Vintage Port
Grants of St James Label

An outstanding 1963 Port scoring 96/100 Parker Points.

Reviews: "What a stunning 1963 vintage port this is! The bouquet draws you in, does not drag you in with its alcohol and reveals a fresh, well defined nose with a nutty edge, hints of cigar box and allspice. The palate is beautifully balanced, understated on the entry but building all the time, flashes of eucalyptus leading towards a more extrovert, clove tinged finish that hangs around the palate like an obsessed ex-girlfriend. Gorgeous Grahams! Tasted May 2009." Neil Martin, Wine Journal

Vintage Port
Bin soiled label

*** 93 Points Aggregated Score***

The 1975 Graham's vintage port is a wine from an historic year for Portugal with a port declaration that came shortly after the 1974 revolution. With a lively bright appearance and deep aromatic nose of candied fruit, damson jam and sweet raisins, this port is a crowd pleaser. Elegant, with a long lingering finish it is nearly perfect now and will only keep improving.

It has long been a tradition for special occasions to be marked by the laying down of vintage port from the year of the event. Problematically, due to the fact that a vintage year is normally only declared in the second year after the harvest, the recipient of the gift often has to remain empty handed until sometime after the celebration.

Herdade do Peso, 2019

`Revelado` Alentejo Tinto, DOC Alentejo
***89 Points Bronze Award- Decanter 2023***
***89 Points Robert Parker***

Deep ruby colour, this wine has appealing aromas of black cherries and black plums, with savoury hint of toast and clove and a subtle earthiness. On the palate it is full-bodied, with ripe and round tannins giving structure and an elegant acidity which carries the flavours onto the lingering finish.

Despite its southerly location, Vidígueira is one of the cooler Alentejo sub-regions and benefits from cool Atlantic air funnelled inland by a gap in the coastal hills. The vineyards are planted on rolling hills and 12 different soil types have been identified with a predominance of limestone, which controls vine vigour and lends elegance to the wines.

Inferno, 1982

Nera

Inferno is one of five viticultural sub-zones specifically identified as producing Valtellina wines of particularly high quality: the other four are Grumello, Sassella, Maroggia and Valgella. Inferno means 'hell' in Italian, and refers to the slopes between Sondrio town and the village of Tresivio. Although DOC laws do not explain the origins of this name, it has been suggested that in summer the slopes here get noticeably hotter than the rest of the valley. Just across Sondrio to the west is Sassella, the finest of the Valtellina sub-zones.
