Offley Port, 2011

Vintage Port Single 75cl Bottle in gift box

The Offley Porto Vintage 2011 Port Wine is produced from Quinta da Boavista and other vineyards in the Pinhão area. Sogrape describes it as: "A wine with an extremely intense colour. A deep, almost-opaque, red. Exceptionally rich aromatically. Black fruits of the forest, especially plum, stand out in the nose, with woody notes of pine and cedar, floral tones of rockrose, hints of sous bois, and spices such as cloves and nutmeg. On the palate, an excellent body, well-present acidity, lively yet well-integrated tannins and hints of black forest fruits, again plum, but also cherry. An intense and persistent finish.

Perrier Jouet, 2011

Belle Epoque Vintage Champagne

Pale yellow with gold hints; notes of caramel, leaves, lightly roasted nuts, apple skin, slight oxidation; on the palate still some effervescence bubbles faded rather quickly, pleasing notes of sour apple, burnt caramel, musty chalk; medium body, good lifted acidity with a slightly rich caramel apple note, long in the mouth. Really nice, excellent condition.

Pocas, 2011

Vintage Port
With own Cardboard Presentation Box

Review Scores
94 pts Wine Spectator - This is one of the very few Ports where you can discern a scintilla of over-ripeness on the prune and raisin-scented bouquet. It is very heady, but there is a little nail-varnish in the background. The palate is smooth and viscous on the entry – a hedonistic, fiery, honeyed, almost “unctuous” Vintage Port that needs to develop more restraint and reserve on the finish, which is slightly cloying.

95 Wine Spectator

"An exuberantly fruity style, with floral-infused raspberry, dark cherry and currant flavors that are pure and fresh. Minerally midpalate, showing mocha and peppery notes on the long, muscular finish. Pure, complex and almost monolithic. Best from 2030 through 2050. 750 cases made."

94 Wine Enthusiast

"Great berry and plum fruits leap out of the glass. It has a solid structure, to be sure, but it is the ripe character of the wine, a delicious balance between great fruit and acidity that dominates.

99 points Wine Enthusiast
The sweetness of the wine vies with the acidity to bring out a dense structure, black currant flavors and firm tannins that are strongly integrated into the ripe texture. This is a gorgeous, dense, concentrated wine, coming into balance while showing great structure and potential. (9/2013)

Burmester Port, 2010

Quinta de Arnozelo Vintage Port

A 2010 Vintage Port Wine from Burmester.

Tasting Notes
Red and black fruit in the aroma, with much youth, blackberry compote. Very attractive in the mouth, elegant and with a beautiful presence, it proves very lively and fresh with citrus notes to mark presence. Will mature over the next 10-15 years.

Food Pairing
The association of Vintage Port with a mature blue cheese such as Stilton is one of the great classic food and wine combinations. The soft buttery texture, mellow character and piquancy of the cheese are perfectly matched by the powerfully majestic flavours of the Vintage Port.

Dom Perignon, 2010

Champagne

Tasting Note: The luminous sweetness of tropical fruit – green mango, melon, pineapple – instantly shines. It then cedes to more temperate notes, the tingle of orange zest, the mist of a mandarin orange. The wine breathes, revealing its freshness. The bloom after the rain. A tactile ensation of peony, jasmine and lilac. The wine immediately imposes its ample presence, full and massive. A sappy sensation dominates as the tactile is rapidly overtaken by the aromatic. The body unfolds: generous, firm and controlled. Then it contracts, letting the wine vibrate with spices and pepper. The energy is sustained to a scintillating, saline finish.
